Food Show Refugee

Food Show Refugee
By Phil Berglund
(Sung to the music of Happy Hour Refugee)

On the road again with Carla, headin out of town
Waitin for this Ironbird to get back on the ground
Work for eight, play for eight, sleep for two or three
Most the time I'm at a show peddlin my Brie.

I get myself a push cart, and cruise from booth to booth
Sampling salami, O.D. ing my sweet tooth
Checking out the Vendors, grade how they present
Report back to the boss, but I don't know where he went.

Free Food, Free Food
The sampling is good, I never shop for groceries
Cept for veggies and T.P., the diet can be deadly
To Us
FOOD SHOW REFUGEE'S
FREE FOOD, FREE FOOD, FREE FOOD

Sometimes I get hungry, usually I'm not
I need a bigger freezer for all the stuff I got
Ten pounds of Cheese, a case of sweets, I hope my teeth don't rot
I also need a membership to the nearest workout spot

Free Food, Free Food
The sampling is good, I never shop for groceries
Cept for veggies and T.P., the diet can deadly
To Us
FOOD SHOW REFUGEE'S
FREE FOOD, FREE FOOD, FREE FOOD

I love it. You were singing it in my head when I was reading it.

THAT is awesome. I wish I had a recording because Mitch and I are right this very second at a food show putting together a slide show for tonight. I LOVE it!

Phil, call your mom and sing it to her. When I told her about the new version, she told me she didn't even know the old version, so, there you have a tale.
